This course offering is comprised of two class sections, ESM 1 and ESM 1L. Each section of ESM 1 will have a specific companion section of ESM 1L. Students must enroll in both sections.

ESM 1 awards 1-unit of baccalaureate credit (applicable towards baccalaureate degree requirements)
ESM 1L awards 2-units of pre-baccalaureate credit (NOT applicable towards baccalaureate degree requirements)

University Catalog Description: Designed for students (non-STEM, non-business) in the Early Start program. Review of topics in algebra and geometry: (percentages, ratios, radicals, exponents, linear equations and inequalities, equations of lines, area, angles, and similar triangles); applications in optimization and statistics. CR/NC grading only; 1 unit applicable towards baccalaureate degree requirements.
