The Early Start Program is designed to provide support to admitted students in English and math before their first semester so that they can be better prepared and successful in college.
All incoming first-time freshmen who do not demonstrate proficiency in written communication and or math/quantitative reasoning will be required to participate in ESP. A student's readiness for college level English and math courses is evaluated using multiple measures (SAT, ACT, CAASPP/EAP, high school GPA and high school coursework). The Admitting campus will notify ESP participants with instructions on how to complete the ESP registration process.
